The NDS EZ-Flow French drain (often searched as an "EZ French drain" or "EZ drain") is a prefab, gravel-free French drain. Each bundle is a 4 in. slotted corrugated pipe surrounded by Poly-Rock engineered aggregate and wrapped in geotextile mesh. You lay it in the trench, backfill, and you are done. There is no gravel to haul, shovel or spread, and NDS says it installs in half the time of a traditional French drain.

How to Install
- Dig a trench with at least a 1% slope toward the outlet.
- Lay the bundles in the trench and connect them at the pipe ends.
- Route the outlet to daylight, a dry well or a storm drain.
- Backfill with at least 6 in. of cover (12 in. under vehicle traffic).

EZflow vs. EZ-Drain: Which Do You Need?
Both are NDS gravel-free French drains: slotted corrugated pipe surrounded by Poly-Rock aggregate in a mesh sleeve, installed the same way. NDS says their flow performance is similar.
- EZ-Drain is the smaller-diameter version with smaller aggregate, sold at home centers as single 10 ft pieces. It suits short runs, such as one downspout.
- EZflow is NDS's larger line: 7 in. bundles (3 in. pipe), 10 in. bundles (4 in. pipe) and 15 in. bundles (6 in. pipe), plus aggregate-only versions. This page sells the 10 in. What is the difference between EZflow and EZ-Drain?
Both are NDS gravel-free French drain systems. NDS says their flow performance is similar and one to two orders of magnitude greater than native soil. EZ-Drain comes in smaller-diameter bundles with a smaller aggregate.
Can I buy fewer than 40 bundles?
Online, the minimum order is 40 bundles (400 ft). For a shorter run, request a quote with your length and we'll let you know the options.
How deep should an EZ-Flow French drain be buried?
NDS calls for at least 6 in. of cover where there is no vehicle traffic and 12 in. for H-10 vehicle loads. Maximum burial depth is 10 ft for typical soil. Install with at least a 1% slope.
Do you need gravel with EZ-Flow?
No. Poly-Rock engineered aggregate replaces the gravel, so there is no stone to haul or shovel.
Can I cut EZ-Flow bundles?
Yes. Push the aggregate to either side of the cut, cinch it with two zip ties, and cut between them. Connect bundles with couplers at the pipe ends.
Where does EZ-Flow work best?
In non-clay soils. It handles lawns, plant beds, sports fields, foundations, retaining walls and downspout runoff.
